Beth Shalom is a community built on the energy, passion, and dedication of its volunteers. There are countless ways for you to join us in continuing to build our community. We welcome volunteers, regardless of how much time you can offer. There are opportunities in which you can volunteer your time once or twice or on a more regular basis. Oneg
The Oneg following Shabbat services on Friday night gives us the opportunity to celebrate the joy of the Sabbath, socialize, and build new relationships. This is an easy way to connect with other members and an integral part of how we build our Beth Shalom sense of community.We hope this opportunity allows you to make new friends and to reconnect with old ones.
All members of Beth Shalom are invited to host an Oneg. You may sign up for an Oneg via SignUp Genius. You may also select one of three food items to contribute. A Board Representative is your partner and guide. The Board Representative on your selected night is available for any questions you may have before you host and will be there with you while you host.
Three weeks ahead of your hosting, you will receive an email with an attachment providing detailed information. One week ahead of your hosting, SignUp Genius will send you a reminder.
We are grateful to the Oneg hosts for making our Shabbat services more enjoyable. We honor them by inviting them to participate in lighting the Shabbat candles at the beginning of the service. The hosts may also be called to the Torah for an Aliyah. The Rabbi and service leader(s) are happy to help assist with either of these in any way necessary.

Financial Contributions
Wouldn't it be wonderful if the incredible effort of our volunteers was all that was needed to keep the Beth Shalom community running? Unfortunately, that is just not reality; and it takes some cold, hard cash to keep the the Rabbi employed, our Religious School educating, the lights on, the water running, the security cameras working...you get the idea.
Your donation maintains a Jewish community in your area.
Think about that for a minute. We are a minority here in Southern Wake County but have created a beautiful, vital, spiritual home for the Jews of our area and the next generation of Jews, as well. Without your support, what will happen? Where will we teach our children? Where will we celebrate the High Holidays? Please consider the incredible opportunity you have to make sure our community continues to thrive.
Please consider a donation to the temple to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or B'nei Mitzvah. It is also a beautiful way to honor the memory of a loved one, either through a donation or the purchase of a memorial plaque. You can donate to a specific fund or the general fund of the temple and have the option to send a note to the family of the event or person you are recognizing.
All donations are welcome, and while general donations provide Beth Shalom with the greatest spending flexibility, there are also a number of funds that have been established for those who want to earmark where their donations are spent.
The largest of these funds are the A/V and IT Funds, the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund, the Religious School Discretionary Fund, the Landscaping Fund, and the Music Fund. In addition, you may donate to the Men's Club Holocaust Memorial, the Safety Fund, or the Beth Shalom Endowment.
